Wilson Commencement Park (WCP) provides comprehensive quality resources and services for low-income single parent families. We believe that everyone has a desire to succeed, and given the support and opportunity there are no limits to what individuals and families can achieve.

WCP is a community within a community - a unique transitional support program that provides quality, affordable housing and comprehensive support services for approximately sixty-eight (68) single-parent families annually, in two locations on its campus; and support services for over 600 community families.

Wilson Commencement Park offer the means for homeless low-income single parent families to become and remain self-sufficient, to increase their independent earning power, and to break the generational cycle of poverty and welfare dependence for both the parents and their children.

JAZZ FOR THE PARK

Since its inception Jazz for the Park has raised over $100,000 for the children and families of Wilson Commencement Park. Past performances include:

2009 | Jeffrey Osborne - One of R&B and pops best vocalist.

2008 | Highly acclaimed jazz vocalist Kurt Elling featuring Ernie Watts and the Laurence Hobgood Trio as part of "Dedicated to You*. *Grammy Award Winner 2010 - best jazz vocal album.

2008 | Multi Grammy Award Winner Pat Metheny with Christian McBride and Antonio Sanchez.

2006 | Legendary Multi Grammy Award Winner George Benson with a special performance by Raul Midon.

2005 | Internationaly acclaimed vocalist Kevin Mahagony accompanied by the youthful New Life Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Kendrick Oliver.
